Our Story

We live here, too

The Blue Whale Inn is one blue building in the Pier Bowl, run by one family. We furnished it, painted it, and fuss over it ourselves. When you call, one of us picks up. If something needs fixing, one of us walks over. And when the day winds down, you'll usually find us where we send our guests: around a fire ring on the beach, a few blocks from home.

What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in is 4pm and check-out is 10am. Let us know if you need flexibility and we'll do our best to work with you.
Is parking available?
Yes. Each property includes on-site or nearby street parking, with details in your check-in guide.
Are pets allowed?
Well-behaved dogs are welcome in all of our units, up to 2 dogs per unit, with a $150 pet fee per stay. The Jewel just asks for a quick approval first. Mention your pet when booking and we'll get everything ready.
How far is the beach?
Every property is within a few blocks of San Clemente State Beach and the pier. Most guests walk.
